Desmos for Schools – Year 6 Wrap-up!
One of our favorite programs just completed its 6th year and we couldn’t be more proud! During the academic year 2019-2020, despite the COVID-19 challenges, we were able to cover important needs for 21 public schools in 9 prefectures of Greece.
With the continuous support of 5 Hotel & Resort groups we supported students and their teachers giving them the appropriate tools and opportunities to thrive in their schools, communities and the world.
Desmos for Schools travelled to Florina, Pella, Serres, Alexandroupolis, Naxos, Kalymnos, Corfu, Ikaria, Crete, but also underprivileged neighborhoods in Athens & Thessaloniki, covering a wide range of requests.
In addition to computers, projectors, robotics kits, chemistry & physics kits, class furniture, and school art & office supplies, microphones, interactive whiteboards, and so much more, other examples of the needs covered this year are:
New contemporary books for the School Library in Abdyra, Xanthi, musical instruments for the High School of Ehinos, sports equipment and new carpeting for the preschool of Madena in Northern Xanthe, geography and geopolitical Maps, art supplies and sports equipment for the Elementary School of Raches in Ikaria, new outdoor benches for the 27th High School in Athens, new boiler, air conditioning unit, and physical therapy instruments for Special Education School in Kalymnos, and much more.
We are so happy that we were able to complete this year’s requests in time, overcoming the schools’ three month lockdown due to COVID-19.
