Maria Sakkari

Ambassador

Maria Sakkari is a professional tennis player, who was introduced to Tennis by her mother, tennis great Angeliki Kanellopoulou at the age of 5. Maria was born and raised in Athens but moved to Barcelona at the age of 18 for 4 years to train. She has been representing Greece with pride since 2012 when she entered the pro tour. She made her Grand Slam debut at the 2015 US Open and qualified for her second Grand Slam at the 2016 Australian Open. Maria won her first WTA trophy in Rabat in 2019, and she currently has a career-high singles ranking of No. 22 on October 21st, 2019.

DESMOS aims to coordinate the donating process between donors and organizations in need. Desmos does not attest to, or provide any guarantees regarding, the quality of the offered goods or their characteristics. Desmos designs and implements programs arising from financial donations by individuals, companies and charitable financial institutions aiming to meet the needs of vulnerable groups. In order to be able to sustainably run our programs, we need to cater for implementation costs such as research and update of needs, proposal compilation, implementation follow up, payments, financial and final reports to donors etc. The set policy of Desmos is to charge a 10% administrative fee after removing the applied 0.5% donation tax. Especially where individuals’ monetary donations up to 5.000 euros for combating the COVID-19 pandemic are concerned, Desmos waives its right to the aforementioned percentage and assumes the responsibility to absorb all administrative costs.
